Quality assurance is an essential part of precision engineering, particularly when machined components are being supplied into demanding manufacturing and engineering environments.
WLR Precision operates a structured quality management system supported by extensive CNC inspection capability, material traceability and documented manufacturing processes.
This page brings together the information procurement, engineering and quality teams may require when assessing WLR as an approved machining supplier.
ISO 9001 Quality Management
WLR Precision operates an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system, with certification provided through ISOQAR.
Our quality processes support the manufacture and inspection of precision engineered components from prototype and development work through to repeat production.
CNC Inspection and Quality Control
WLR has a dedicated inspection department equipped to verify both straightforward and highly complex machined components.
Inspection capabilities include CNC coordinate measuring machines, continuous scanning probes, laser scanning, optical measurement, bore measurement, alloy analysis and hardness testing.
This allows inspection requirements to be considered alongside machining rather than as a separate final-stage process.
Where customers have particular reporting or inspection requirements, these should be included with the drawing or purchase specification when requesting a quotation.
Material and Component Traceability
WLR operates computerised production systems that provide traceability of components and materials through the manufacturing process.
Material identification, manufacturing information and customer specifications can therefore follow the component through production, helping customers maintain supply-chain control.
Positive Material Identification equipment is also available where verification of alloy grade and composition forms part of the component requirement.
Approved Processes and External Treatments
Some components require more than machining alone.
WLR can coordinate specified external processes including anodising, plating, specialist coatings, heat treatment, hardness testing and non-destructive examination.
Processes can be managed in accordance with customer specifications and approved vendor lists where required.
This enables customers to receive a more complete manufactured component rather than managing several individual processes independently.
